The first International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety management systems has been published. The Standard was developed to address the increasing number of work related injuries, illnesses and deaths worldwide
AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018, Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use has been published providing organisations of all sizes with a local version of the new International Standard.
The Australian and New Zealand version of the Standard provides an OH&S management system approach to workplace health and safety.The Plan-Do-Check-Act concept within the Standard provides a model for continuous improvement.
The Standard contains requirements that can be used by an organisation to implement an OH&S management system and to assess conformity.
A copy of the local version of AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018 is available through SAI Global.
AS/NZS 4801 remains current until such time as it’s determined by regulators to be otherwise.
